 A Note From Denver:

MOM HELPS MAKE MANY WISHES COME TRUE Albuquerque, NM ResidentAnd Make-A-Wish Foundation Volunteer Nominated For Teleflora Contest What would you do if your husband of eight years nominated you as “America’s Favorite Mom” in an online contest sponsored by Teleflora? If you are Albuquerque, NM resident Denver Goodman (Billings), 32, you see it as a way to give back to others as she plans on using the money if she wins to sponsor a wish or wishes for the Make-A-Wish Foundation depending on the size of the prize money.   Denver is a former graduate of Santa Fe High School (1993) and the University of Texas Medical Branch Occupational Therapy Program (1999).  As a mom of four children (ages 17,5, 3, and 1), her husband, Bill and she decided that it made sense for her to stay at home to take care of them opening her up to becoming a volunteer for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of NM, a foundation that grants wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses.  She is currently Vice President of Wishgranting and the “2007 Volunteer of the Year” for the foundation and is known as one of the “most creative wishgranters around”.  When asked why she would volunteer instead of paid employment, she quickly replies, “Why not?  Many people helped me out along the way, so why shouldn’t I give back now that I am able?  Plus, when you experience the power of the wish for the children who receive them, you realize you are truly helping that child and their family regain a little bit of the childhood and joy that has been taken from them due to their illness.” Denver was in first place in the contest, but suffered several setbacks that moved her into third place due to someone removing her nomination on more than one occasion and registration problems for voters.  Her strong support has helped her regain second place, but she needs a couple hundred new voters to be able to regain the lead. You can help Denver make wishes come true by visiting www.americasfavoritemom.com and voting for her ONCE A DAY.  Registration takes about 45 seconds and continued daily voting takes about 15 seconds.  This is truly one of those instances where “a click of the mouse just may make a difference in the life of a child.” HOW TO VOTE FOR DENVERLOG ON AND REGISTER AT WWW.AMERICASFAVORITEMOM.COMCLICK ON DENVER’S PHOTO NOMINATION THEN CLICK ON VOTE
